Govt must urgently change tack after a damning assessment by the ESRI of its untargeted response to soaring energy costs. Efforts to reduce the impact of energy price increases have done little to protect the most vulnerable households, while giving significant support to those on high incomes.
A genocide cannot be met with silence. If the Government believes action is needed, it must show leadership and act on that belief. Ireland should stand on the side of human rights and accountability.

The heinous actions of the Israeli state are dismantling Palestine in real time. That's why the Irish govt's ban on extremist Israeli ministers rings so hollow. These ministers aren't outliers – they're the result of the total impunity afforded the Israeli regime. We need to take stronger action.

Minister for Health must ensure that new surgical hubs treat public patients only. The idea that a private patient could gain faster access to a surgical hub runs counter to the aims of Sláintecare and only reinforces a two-tier health system. @padraigrice.bsky.social
Figures released by the CRU show there were 318,735 homes in electricity arrears at the end of March. A total of 183,468 were behind on their gas bills. Yet the Government still has its head in the sand and refuses to intervene as this crisis escalates.

There must be clarity and protection provided to the staff and students of Carlow College who are facing uncertainty. The institution has shaped generations of students, thinkers, educators, and community leaders for more than two centuries. @patriciastephenson.bsky.social @jencummins.bsky.social
The horrific knife attack in Belfast this week was shocking. But racially motivated violence is not the answer. Communities in the North can overcome the disturbing events of the past few days with the right leadership. @patriciastephenson.bsky.social
