"I only watch Star Trek for the space battles" is a bizarre take given that most of the space battles in Star Trek are: *camera shakes* "Sir, shields down to 87%!" *camera shakes* "Shields down to 76%!" *camera shakes* "Shields down to 54%!" *camera shakes* "Sir, shields down to --"
Israel is an apartheid state. That apartheid now officially includes the death penalty. Israel has long engaged in mass extrajudicial executions of Palestinians. It's now official state policy.
Torturing kids is legal in the name of religious freedom happy TDOV
Any time someone's complains about something like Star Wars or Star Trek "getting too political" I really wonder about how hard they have to be actively working to ignore the fact that these stories are inherently, unsubtly, political.
I've read shit like that, but...I never came away with "I wish books had less politics and more ray guns" it was mostly, "I wish these guys could be fucking normal about women for five seconds" ...oh and also, someone should maybe arrest the guy who wrote that fucking SS super tank book
/Watching a TV commercial where a bunch of young dudes are watching sports on TV while betting on it on their phones and making various faces but not otherwise interacting with each other at all "Yeah. Fuckin' hell yeah man."
there's actually one guy named "claude" a hyper competent frenchman given a special cocktail of amphetamines that they keep chained up in a basement in San Francisco. the usage limits are because sometimes he dies and it's necessary to decant a new clone and give him more amphetamines.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Stephen Miller needs to be removed. He is the architect of so many of this administration's worst actions and instincts. newrepublic.com/post/208362/...
