Much appreciation to the people that have been subscribing and helping us spread the word. Improving staff pay isn't something that's typically a big motivator, so it means a lot to see so many people getting behind the goal.
Between now and October (our 20th anniversary issue), we're running a subscription drive and dedicating all new revenue toward improving pay for our staff, writers, artists, and contractors. Details on how to subscribe can be found here: clarkesworldmagazine.com/subscribe/

A long time ago, when I finally admitted that I was really an SF writer, not a litfic writer, Clarkesworld and Shimmer were the two magazines I started reading, and then where I started submitted. Shimmer is gone, but we still have Clarkesworld. We should do what we can to keep it.

If you love short SF, or SF generally, a subscription to Clarkesworld is incredibly worth it. 50,000 words every month of stories, interviews and art for not a whole lot of money. Highly highly recommended.
genuinely hard to sum up how much Clarkesworld has done for me in the last few years. please do consider supporting them — they pay it forward to so many brilliant and talented people. and also you get stories in return

Somewhere out there, someone who's just started reading SF has found Clarkesworld and is going to start writing stories so they can join the conversation. We should make sure the magazine is there to catch those stories, because they're probably going to blow our minds.
