READ: “While I know that driving is a necessity for some, for me, it has been 1st and foremost a habit. My experience of driving less has reminded me that when we can, it’s worth questioning our habits…because what’s comfortable doesn’t necessarily make us feel happy or free.”
How change can start.
People want government that works. Mamdani understands this better than almost anybody.
Alice is amazing, really cares about this city 👏
What I would give for my city to care enough to do something like this.

When we think about the big differences between European and North American city-building, a primary turning point was the 1970s Energy Crisis. European cities and nations learned, and took their city-building, urban transportation, and renewable energy development in very different directions. 1/2
As Calgary City Council winds down its public hearing this week on repealing citywide rezoning, I want to share this two part video from contributor Alice Lam, whom is a god-damned treasure. Her story and perspective is so meaningful, and gets at the fears that a lot of NIMBYs have.

You should read this. It’s excellent communication & story-telling.
“I’m driving less. I don’t want to see the world through a driver’s eyes any more. Before I began driving less, I had long had a melancholic sense that the city lifestyle I lived was cut off...” #UrbanTruth
