💧We’re holding the line on our water use. Yesterday’s water usage was 500 million litres (ML), which includes 12 ML from the Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant used to refill the feeder main. Great work this weekend on keeping us in the green zone! Visit calgary.ca/savewater for updates.
The Public Hearing on proposed citywide zoning changes continues this morning at 9:30 a.m. Watch the livestream at calgary.ca/watchlive, and check the live agenda at calgary.ca/agenda.
✅ We’re starting Sunday in the green. Yesterday’s water usage was 489 million litres (ML) which keeps us in the green zone, even as we continued to refill the pipe throughout the day. 1/2
Refilling is continuing today, followed by water sampling and tests. Thank you for your continued dedication to saving water! To stay up to date, visit calgary.ca/savewater 2/2
Until the feeder main is connected back to our water system, saving water remains important. Thank you for doing your part! To stay up to date, visit calgary.ca/savewater
Update: March 30 – 4 p.m. We’re in the homestretch! Feeder main repairs are in the final stages. 📣Today, we are continuing sampling and testing to confirm the water meets or exceeds all regulatory standards.
We will then closely monitor the pipe and the system to make sure it is stable. If all goes as planned, water restrictions could lift as early as this Thursday, April 2. 🚧 Repaving at our work sites along 16th avenue begins today. Stay up to date at calgary.ca/savewater
Once results confirm the water is safe, we’ll open valves along the pipe and begin restarting pumps at the Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant tomorrow. Calgarians may notice cloudy water during this time – this is temporary and will take around 24 hours to clear. The water is still safe to drink.
✅ Another day in the green! Yesterday’s water usage was 494 million litres (ML), keeping us in the green zone. This includes water flowing from the Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant to refill the feeder main. Refilling will continue through the weekend. 1/2
