Thank you to @unwinnable.com for working with me on this story. I had a fascinating and unique experience watching La La Land with my fiancé on a date for Valentines, and I’m happy that I’ve been given the space to share this experience with others.
I've not experienced much art that has forced itself under my skin in the way that 1000xRESIST did. It gave me a lot to think about and to do, the first of which being writing this piece. Thank you startmenu for the space for this, and to @kellymerka.bsky.social for making it the best it can be.
After a painful experience, Jay Weaver found comfort in one of Olivier Bouchard’s tradermark “sad games” — Camille and Laura.

Another article from me, no way!! Check out my review for the (mostly) excellent Gecko Gods and thank you @startmenu.bsky.social for publishing it
Here we have it, the 40th published piece in my portfolio. Thank you to @startmenu.bsky.social for the space to write this. I’m looking forward to writing even more and hopefully hitting 50 pieces soon.
Huge thanks to @startmenu.bsky.social for giving me the space to write about the very cool puzzle game beneath Horripilants more overt idle game. Also very glad I can somewhat justify the hours I lost to Adventure Capitalist as a teen as they led to me having more to say in this review years later

Iron Lung uses its longer run time to recreate the vivid tangibility of the short game that inspired it and, in doing so, establishes Mark Fischbach’s directoral voice as one more than worth paying attention to. @thetenthletter.bsky.social reviews. www.startmenu.co.uk/home/review-...

I think a fundamental problem here, and why people are bouncing off, is that the new, too sleek, too polished visuals don't take me back to the original, or even look how I pictured them in my mind's eye. They severe me from that and remind me that it's 2025. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUvS...

ICYMI: "Jazz was made from La La Land itself, and I was compelled to share our experience with you." @thetenthletter.bsky.social sees a unique - yet unintentional - cut of La La Land that gives them a one-of-a-kind perspective on the film:

In Ubik Studios’ Leila, the titular character brings the player along on a journey of self-reflection. A meditative experience guided by gentle narration, the game examines what it means to be human — both when we’re at our best, and our worst. Jay Weaver reviews.

Songs of Glimmerwick’s magical premise shows promise, but @thetenthletter.bsky.social's experience with the game's demo was hampered by its complex spellcasting mechanics.
