you've just made a story about how you shouldn't believe accusers because they're meany liars who are just trying to ruin a good guy's reputation... which is a horribly disgusting statement in any media.
This ep takes an odd third path: She's not lying. But she's not accurate either? Probably??
Given what we know went on behind the scenes of a lot of TV shows and movies, especially Hollywood, and including on VARIOUS Trek shows, it's not surprising this is the perspective certain Hollywood writers would take.

It's the truest definition of filler. Because the entire staff were "Gangbanging" (their term) Yesterday's Enterprise, a freelance script no one liked or wanted to do slipped through.

This one's...been a long time coming.
After shame for asking for the 'wrong one' as a kid, disappointment in the KO as a teenager, being 'fine' with the G1 colours one, getting duped by another KO and having my first 'normal' copy stolen...its finally in my collection for good.
Honestly, they should have just cut the damn scene. It doesn't affect anything, it makes Riker look horrible, it makes the writers look worse, and it's been a stain on TNG STILL referenced to this day. I saw a post on it this week, people still talk about it.
She's accusing Riker of SH and attempted SA. But Troi psychically knows this woman believes what she says to be true, and that Riker believes his own version of events. Obviously we're biased in favour of Riker, but what the hell are we supposed to take from this?!
I'm still baffled as to what the hell the writers were thinking. Accusations of SA are so extremely serious, and they can kinda only go one of two ways;
a. he's guilty and therefore a r**ist. Character forever tarnished.
b. he's NOT guilty, and the accuser is a liar... in which case, congrats (...)
