I'm still baffled as to what the hell the writers were thinking. Accusations of SA are so extremely serious, and they can kinda only go one of two ways;
a. he's guilty and therefore a r**ist. Character forever tarnished.
b. he's NOT guilty, and the accuser is a liar... in which case, congrats (...)

It was sold on the Rashomon gimick of using the holodeck to show different perspectives on the accusation of murder (and as it goes along, attempted rape) against Riker.
But it's a gimmick on a very flimsy story that makes Riker look awful in every perspective except his own.
