Thanks to the #MVLSPartnerships team for inviting us to their Life Science Partnerships Day yesterday. We had great time talking about cryo-EM to students, staff, funders and potential partners, as well as hearing previous partnership successes across the University
Fantastic to have this out!
As ever, I'm immensely grateful to all co-authors for their support, advice, and resource provision. This was a real collaborative effort, and highlights the potential of VP2 as a viable target for calicivirus antivirals- exciting stuff!
An excellent day at the @elrig.org Drug Discovery in Scotland meeting, hosted just up the road from us @cruk-si.bsky.social. It was really interesting to see the breadth of activity in Scotland and we hope to see some you utilising cryo-EM in the future!

Last week, we hosted 6 participants on the Cryo-EM in Structural Biology 2026 course, part of our Wellcome/MRC-funded training programme. The course was hybrid with online lectures together with the other hosts and onsite practicals. Find out more: www.gla.ac.uk/research/az/...
On the train back from yet another excellent @ccpem.bsky.social Spring Symposium. It was excellent to catch up with many friends, collaborators and vendors and the talks have given us plenty of ideas for the facility that we can improve and implement for our users. Until next year!

Amazing work from Charlotte Lewis - our latest preprint describes structure guided development of an antiviral peptide, targeting VP2 portal assembly - a strategy that may have broad application to treat or prevent calicivirus disease.
