We explored the photophysics of heavy T‑shaped Pn trisamides and uncovered unique behaviour✨ A fantastic collaboration with the Winter and Coburger groups, combining synthesis, spectroscopy, and theory. Stellar work by Katharina and Soti šŸ‘ chemistry-europe.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
I had made (and crystallised) a gram or so of [Fe(C6Me6)2] for an idea a few months prior, though assumed that the structure had already been solved. Following this, we mounted a crystal, and finally say that iron opts to violate the 18-e rule, resulting in a 20-VE Ī·6,6 configuration
This came about after flicking through Manfred Bochmann's second Oxford primer on Organometallics with members of the group, and finding that the hapticity of the rings in [Fe(arene)2] was yet unknown. The neighbouring [Ru(arene)2] and [Co(arene)2]+ complexes are Ī·4,6 and Ī·6,6...
Our paper ranked among the top 10% most-viewed papers in ChemEurJ, 2024. This ligand started my independent career at TUM, is a foundation of our work, and it keeps delivering exciting chemistry. More coming soon šŸ™‚ chemistry-europe.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....
