Good news that Oscar Onley was able to finish today’s stage at the AURA Tour. I have no idea about his condition, but hopefully nothing too serious after his horror crash today.
Crazy goings on at AURA Tour, various key riders not starting (in Nordhagen & sadly Onley), race neutralisation due to gravel on the descent, several crashes (with Dani Martinez, Braz Afonso and most notably Paul Seixas who’s now over 3 mins behind the peloton). Live coverage not even started yet.
Unreal effort by Decathlon to bring back Seixas, precision planning whilst being on the back foot. As a team leader you can not ask for more than this and I hope he realises he’s in an already strong, ascending team that have 100% got his back.
I know there were quite a few raised eyebrows with the Caja Rural invite to the Tour, but then again they had 2 riders Jose Felix Parra and Jan Castellon both in the top 10 of today’s brutal stage in the AURA Tour, in a stacked field. Chapeau!
