i think this is exactly right and it is part of what i was trying to get at last week when i wrote about the narcissism of the president and his allies. they fundamentally do not believe other people are real, and do not understand the decisions they make.
The absolute hysteria with which proslavery dems warned that abolitionists wanted black and white people to be able to get married is incredible, they're pretending to be disgusted by "amalgamation" while functionally living in a polygamous society where "amalgamation" is already occurring

The pope's words of support for universal healthcare are just that — words — and the institution he controls absolutely does not practice universal healthcare access, or anything close, in the massive healthcare networks they run.
