I'm not a Buttigieg fan, but I'll say this - this is how I would hope to see every Democrat who was even thinking of running for prez in 2028 talk to have even a chance of reversing course after a trump.
Sleeper factor this fall:
Corporate Media: how will the Public react to the details of the meetings, the drama, the polling, what JD Vance wore to the meetings! Public: actually what we want to learn about is the crimes he committed against girls, not what JD Vance wore to the meetings.

Media’s framing of Platner as some kind of manopshere referendum on gender is idiotic. Women actually prefer Platner to Collins, as polling consistently shows, whereas men prefer Collins. You’ll never see this in a headline though because everything has to be culture war bs
One way of putting it: virtually every week since late 2015, something has happened that I would have thought, based on my pre-2015 understanding of US society and culture, would cause mass revulsion and condemnation from leaders in civil society, politics, and business. And they just ... didn't.
It feels like a lost cause at this point, but governments should have set up alternative means of quickly and broadly communicating with constituents instead of relying on private companies like Facebook and X
