Is it a coincidence this line is coming from everyone who has been at a various point enamored with trumpist or Trump adjacent foreign policy? No. Will this ever change. Also no.
This is actually starting to drive me bonkers, “err, actually you cannot criticize orange man because that is actually hawkish blob talk in favor of forever war” is just childish
There’s a conversation to be had about whether a future D should expend political capital trying to restore the status quo (which at this point seems like a heavy lift) but the idea that you can’t criticize him for starting this stupidity because foreverwar/blob/etc is just annoying
Getting out of the war at all costs may have been the right decision but the idiot got us in that position. He did everything wrong in negotiations. He telegraphed he was desperate for a deal for something like six weeks.
If he wasn't so stupid we could have surrendered with a lot less cost.
The IGRC not having money to fund proxy wars was good actually.

communist who doesn’t vote: “i guess everyone who doesn’t vote must secretly be a communist”
Yeah, this is like if someone makes a bad investment. You criticize the initial decision, you mock them as they hold on to it waiting for it to turn in to something, and then you *really* lay into them when they finally sell and eat the loss. None of this implies you thought it was a good idea!
I guess, in the same way the Contras provided a valuable counterbalance against genocidal Soviet ambition. That is to say, by causing more damage in Lebanon and Yemen than the Israelis and Saudis have while not actually hurting either of them.
And the same kind of communist that I am.

It is not hawkish to point out that Trump lost the war of choice that he started & it is not the duty of doves to defend a peace treaty that recognizes those losses
