Who is this new golden boy they bring in that's gonna steer the ship right? Where did they come from? The whole grift hinges on trust that the successful deserve success and will bring more success to an org. What have these people whose names you know and talk of have achieved, actually?
MS bought all these game studios because some golden boy or gal convinced 5 people in a meeting that it's a good idea because of this graph and that graph and because also, trust me I am smart and flatter well and they'll cut them off because the next golden boy said so all the way down the line
Corp structure inherently antidemocratic. Issue is Capital hierarchy, only way for people to creative collaborate without getting crushed by these forces is democratic reorganization of the industrial sector and society at large. Clutching pearls at each round of layoffs and still buying AAA is sad.
Corp leadership will always fail, petty kings rotating in and out of ruling techno-fiefs parroting a bold new layoff plan, beholden to nobody below them, only interested in fiscal quarter impression. Without democracy any org is doomed to managing failure. Hoping for "better leadership" is asinine.
Can you imagine the workers having a vote to elect CEO? Or a vote to remove one? You might as well imagine the end of Capitalism. Go on, imagine it. Don't be shy.
Listen to this podcast it rules, good people.

No actual competency can thrive in an environment of late stage Capitalism collapse and this technofeudalist hellscape we have allowed to become our reality. Just as governments are rotating their failsons from failing at extinction management we see the same in industries, it will only accelerate.
