Cam is a fantastic horror movie, and deserves respect imo 👍
"An intense, deeply disquieting psychological study, its drama concerns the sensations of feeling unmoored and outside of yourself." ICYMI: We only published one review from the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, but it sure was a good one.

Here's also @xtinemakepeace.bsky.social's great essay on Daniel Goldhaber and Isa Mazzei's CAM for @certifiedforgotten.com, juxtaposing its uniquely empathetic and agency-championing view of sex work with the agency-stripping AI world we live in nearly a decade later certifiedforgotten.com/cam

I've written about CAM before from a sex work perspective. But it's also super relevant in today's ai heavy digital landscape. Give it a read and a share.

"It’s not too surprising that a film so unabashedly pro-sex work would also be early to the 'machines are stealing our jobs' party." Daniel Goldhaber and Isa Mazzei's film was already an indie darling, but CAM has only gained ground with the rise of machine learning.
Romero never misses. I remember this one got mildly dinged back in the day. Diary and Survival really took it in the chops and didn't deserve the drubbing. But the whole zombie thing was changing back then, too, still a couple years ahead of TWD.
"Over the past six years, we’ve published — according to our napkin math, anyways — 298 essays on under-appreciated horror films, 46 reviews of new releases (which we only started doing in 2025), and 179 new podcast episodes." Certified Forgotten is six years old and better than ever.
In this week's newsletter, @donatobomb.bsky.social and @monagle.bsky.social celebrate six years of Certified Forgotten.
