Actions this Saturday to support trans people in Aotearoa & protest NZ First's harmful Definitions of Woman and Man Amendment Bill: Ā  Tāmaki Makarau: 12pm @Myers Park Kirikiriroa: 12pm @Civic Square Pōneke: 12pm @Civic Square Ōtautahi: 1pm @Bridge of Remembrance WhakatÅ«: 2pm @1903 Square #nzpol
This is a fantastic statement from Labour's rainbow spokesperson Georgie Dansey (who i don't think is on bsky yet!). I've been critical of the way Labour have talked about trans issues so here's me giving credit where it's due again - this is exactly what we need to see from them, thank you Georgie!

In remainder of the week I’m gonna go to my local ā€œmeet the candidateā€ thing in my neighborhood and bang the drum for human rights issues, I’m gonna go to the day of action and shout for my people. I’m gonna be a part of my community. And I’m going to sing on Saturday night. Find joy, be hope.

I am sure I am not the only one feeling sick and overwhelmed this evening with this world, these wars, those hateful movements, this government, that dehumanising law, those restructures… the list goes on and gets closer and closer to home. Step off line. Hold loved ones. Paint your signs
Ōtautahi, haere mai for a rally on a national day of action challenging the "definition of woman" bill. Hear from a wide range of speakers, cis and trans, and make it clear that it doesn't speak for *anyone*. 1pm 13th June, Bridge of Remembrance
