Really good perspective by Sarah about one of my greatest reservations about nominating Platner.
If true, I have serious concerns about this being a war crime.
Under the laws of armed conflict:
Proportionality: the military advantage has to outweigh the anticipated civilian harm.
Hard to see what military advantage would outweigh robbing 20k people of drinking water.
Just once, I would like one of these congresspeople to say “If you’re not willing to acknowledge reality about this, then I have no reason to trust you about anything else. I will vote no. I yield the rest of my time.”

I read Isaacson's biography of Elon Musk. I don't recall a single mention of Elon's white supremacy. His grandfather's, yes. It's entirely possible I forgot, but if not, all of his biographers, not just Isaacson, should be feeling pretty sheepish about not uncovering and decrying his bigotry.

I've been a broken record on this for three years and I'll be a broken record for as long as that fucking website exists:
X is a viciously racist far-right organising platform that ONLY WORKS because a huge number of centrists, lefties and progressivs cannot stop propping it up
Everyone on X and elsewhere who called for a violent response should be charged with incitement.
Everyone involved in the pogrom should be locked up with exemplary sentences.
Govt should make it clear that will be the response in future anywhere else.
