interestingly enough, booktok seems to be more effective at promoting older titles, not new ones (reference writestats.com/old-books-ne...)
and we see this in the circulation data - since 2023, popular ebooks start getting older. we don't see this trend at all with physical books!
to be fair, Seattle isn't uniquely impacted here! booktok is so popular that the entire publishing industry has changed how it markets new titles 👀
