I think I’m in the annoy everyone camp. Yes, defence spending needs to rise faster than the proposed timeline suggests but the vision set-out in the Defence Review is unrealistic and avoids hard choices. Plus defence procurement is still a mess and the MOD is often a financial blackhole.
New official statistics just published on the UK's performance in Horizon Europe so far. The graph says it all. A familiar Brexit story - but with light at the end of the tunnel. Decline since the vote to leave in 2016. But the recovery journey has begun.
As with the Thüringen elections in 2019 that completely derailed the originally planned succession to Angela Merkel at the federal level, the upcoming election in Sachsen-Anhalt is going to cause a shockwave in Berlin, but this time under much more chaotic leadership.
