Morning musings... You can’t spiral if you’re pretending to be a 19th-century poet in exile.

Walked into the bookshop for ‘a look’. Left with 4 new books.
And watch this space because trail cameras have also captured footage of this pair of beavers mating, indicating there could be kits this summer... 🦫 📷 Mark Singleton, Gen Grisford, James Beck
🥳 Happy 20th birthday Speedwell! She is the first Wicken Fen Highland cow to reach this age and has been a resident at the Nature Reserve all her life. Speedwell was one of the first calves to be born on the Fen in Cambridgeshire as part of a pioneering conservation project in 2006.
Nothing like a bit of morning yoga to start off the day.
It's been one year since beavers were released into the wild at Studland in Dorset under the first license of its kind to be granted by Natural England. In that time they've reshaped part of the landscape – turning a previously dense area of woodland into a thriving wetland habitat.
Living freely on the Reserve, her grazing habits over two decades have helped maintain a rich mosaic of habitats, benefitting rare fenland wildlife. Speedwell and her only calf, a daughter, Teasel, can normally be found on Verrall’s Fen, a peaceful and remote spot. Photos: Mike Selby, Ajay Tegala
Since their reintroduction, they have explored widely - searching for a suitable place to establish a territory. The pair have now settled, building an impressive 35‑metre dam. This has slowed the flow of a small stream, creating a deep and extensive pond. 📷Before / After
Each spring, blossom makes our local neighbourhoods that little bit brighter and remind us that sunnier days are on the horizon. As #BlossomWatch gets underway, save our bingo board and see how many varieties you spot. 🌸
