An F3 tornado struck southwest Lawrence, destroying 22 houses and damaging 175 homes in a mobile home park. One person was killed at a heavily damaged K-Mart, and 33 were injured.

The F3 tracked 23.6 miles across northeastern Nebraska. Farms, a school, and a church were destroyed or badly damaged. Bertha Nelson, 67, was killed southeast of Winside, and the CDNS documented one injury.
