Like some ppl clearly have no cultural connection to the holiday, no connection that predates it becoming a federal holiday, no connection beyond “it’s a day off.” That’s weird to me.

As someone who was actually at CHAZ, the conservative mediascape’s undying obsession with that protest is akin to Congressional warhawks’ obsession with Russia.
Recently saw this post claiming 3k Christians showed up there to sing & “antifa” had to live-stream it. Obv never happened. 4400 likes.
But you see he lived in a “racially homogenous, high trust society,” so no one was greedy.
