DHS data are critical for understanding progress on WASH, and alongside MICS are the most reliable datapoints underpinning the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme estimates.
Great post from @kopalo.bsky.social on "what will become of international development after the end of the aid paradigm?"

It's not just about USAID.
Post is focused on students/young prof, but of importance to all of us.

Our results show that sanitation implementers & researchers can use SanQoL-5 to monitor & evaluate sanitation progs. We found support for 87% of the hypotheses we tested about how SanQoL-5 scores vary with toilet characteristics such as locks on doors, quality of walls, or faeces being visible.
We also found good evidence of cross-cultural comparability, with <10% of 75 inter-country comparisons suggesting questions were being interpreted differently.
Please use SanQoL-5 in your monitoring, evaluation, trials, etc! It is already being used by WSUP, World Vision, and Sanergy. Some FAQs on SanQoL-5 are on the website (www.SanQoL.org)
