toewalking for a secret third reason
A burning (later, resigned) desire to respond to global violence but without the ability to do anything about it. "Documentaries on refugees, Couples 'gainst the target. You throw a rock against the road, And it breaks into pieces. Draw the blinds on yesterday, And it's all so much scarier."
I’m posting a TEN year old piece of We Know the Devil ephemera to celebrate both games getting nice shiny overhauls #maxswebsite

2026-06-08 David Bowie - It's No Game (Pts 1 & 2) Opens and closes Scary Monsters, the first Bowie album I really got into. An angry album: bitterness, jealousy, addiction. Parts 1 and 2 each share a laundry list of global injustices. Part 1 is angry, energized. Part 2 is tired. Nothing was fixed.
"Won't rely on the moon for anything" is a fun double entendre what with its importance in tidal forces. Also Molly Rankin is extremely pretty.

Lot of resonance with Third World Man, actually, or at least my interpretation of that song. One thing Bowie accidentally captures, years in advance, is how annoying it gets trying to talk about politics online. "To be insulted by these fascists Is so degrading."
