Opens and closes Scary Monsters, the first Bowie album I really got into. An angry album: bitterness, jealousy, addiction. Parts 1 and 2 each share a laundry list of global injustices. Part 1 is angry, energized. Part 2 is tired. Nothing was fixed.

To me, the third world man is suburban tween who has the horrors and wars of the world filtering down to him, adopting guerrilla aesthetics and activities just to feel like he can *do something* about it.
