Congratulations to Dr. Daniela Cossio, a GSMI 2019 scholar, on completing her PhD in Biological Sciences at University of California, Irvine!
She has shown deep and impactful commitment to equity in the sciences and supporting first-year graduate students in a critical year of their graduate studies.
Daniela started off as a GSMI 2019 scholar in our pilot year, went on to contribute to the growth of our mentorship programs, by co-leading our first-year graduate student mentorship program in 2024.

Yessica was in the pilot class of our GSMI 2019 program. As a GSMI alumni, Yessica has contributed to the growth of Cientifico Latino by creating a guide on post-baccalaureate programs, serving as a GSMI mentor, serving as a webinar facilitator, and volunteering to run GSMI programming.
