The blast struck during the startup of operations at the Ras Laffan industrial complex, as Qatar works to restore LNG exports disrupted by months of Middle East conflict.
LNG is an incredibly polluting fuel.
If you want evidence that the oil and gas industry must release methane to ensure safe operations, look no further than their LNG export terminals. That is clouds of their product being released from an export terminal.
The Met Office is forecasting 39°C for London on Wednesday. It's very possible somewhere will see 40°C, equalling the national record max temperature set just four years ago.
