Over the past three years, Germany became a uniquely destructive force in the world. And now it’s government is acting surprised that the other states kept the receipts. That’s not just embarrassing, that’s utterly delusional.
Back when i was an adjunct, i used to say that academic publishing was a scam & a racket. Now that I'm tenure track (& in the age of "AI") my perspective has changed somewhat, in that it's a scam, a racket, *&* fundamentally undermining the very knowledge production it was meant to safeguard & enact
