Subsequent reporting has confirmed what those of us on the ground already knew, which is that MPD did little to protect city residents from ICE while many officers received hefty bonuses.

This is no small task and I certainly don't have the answers. But an important first step is to recognize that the current crisis isn't just an affordability issue; it's a novel problem created by a predatory pharmaceutical industry.
More housing alone won't heal the damage they've done.
We need way more resources in direct care and treatment, as well as new forms of supportive housing. This is expensive and will require city, county, and state cooperation.
That's just one reason we should be thankful for Rep. Aisha Gomez who won millions in local homeless aid this year.

I am not a delegate, but I support Zack for state Auditor.
He’s been working hard on the campaign trail and has the right experience for the job. I am convinced he cares deeply about local government and the core duties of the role.
He’ll make a great Auditor and I hope we endorse him today.
Bill is correct as usual. Removing public space because we can't find a constructive response to unsheltered homelessness is the ultimate admission of failure.
It is surrender in the face of a growing and disturbing problem, and our city will never thrive until we find real solutions.
