One of favorites of these is this clearly well-drawn vinyl compilation from France.
Only in 1981 could you realize a cover with this collection of characters.
Review I did last week for a compilation anime movie I enjoyed on Netflix.
Site editor took out a the first third I wrote of my review. That being said, this movies (or miniseries on YouTube) is worth checking out. www.bubbleblabber.com/2026/06/engl...
Coming back to this post Karl made since I wanted to spotlight two other examples:
The MTV animated series "Downtown" by Chris Prynoski shows how nerds are not simply good or bad guys, but people with unique hang-ups and interests.
The character Alex and episode "The Con" display that.(1/2)
It is! Iβm a huge fan of crossover pieces that arenβt just a collection of promotional stock art, so I try to find and save the ones I can.
Thank you for the advice.
I will make a note to read the Pogo comic strip.
Like nerds need neither exclusive hagiography nor demonization. They need a real accounting of their history & interaction with the pop culture & interests they adore, how that history is a land of high and lows, and how the best obsessives, folks like say Jerry Beck or Justin Sevakis, capture that.
Artists, quote with your yellow art!
kids today call them "vinyls" but we call them "that round thing with the Korean theme songs to "La Seine No Hoshi," "Ogon Batto", "Prince Planet" and "Tom & Jerry" on it"
