The MTV animated series "Downtown" by Chris Prynoski shows how nerds are not simply good or bad guys, but people with unique hang-ups and interests.

Like nerds need neither exclusive hagiography nor demonization. They need a real accounting of their history & interaction with the pop culture & interests they adore, how that history is a land of high and lows, and how the best obsessives, folks like say Jerry Beck or Justin Sevakis, capture that.
