Consider the opportunity costs of the war in Iran. The missiles might have been sent to Ukraine, to end that war. The money might have bought healthcare for Americans. The attention of Europe and Asia might have been focused on countering Russia and China, not re-opening the Strait of Hormuz
“Writing is hard.” Thrilled to share that this simple idea led to a new paper in Political Analysis! Where most text methods focus on content, I test if expression is also effortful action. I find simple measures like character counts reveal attitudes and predict voting. cup.org/4cUmoXi 1/
A very special first for me: seeing my research featured in the @financialtimes.com.

Here are the key take-aways 🧵
Full paper out now in in JQD:DM!
We have a new paper out in PNAS. Susanna’s thread outlines our findings. The big picture takeaway is that well-designed climate education (active, personally relevant, science-based) can complement fiscal and regulatory instruments by building public support for ambitious policy!
🚨I have a new paper out in PNAS with my co-authors,
@maxbradley.bsky.social @renschazottes.bsky.social
and @ninalopezuroz.bsky.social: "Educational policies can strengthen climate coalitions." A thread on what we found (and a great story about doing ambitious research without funding!) [1/9]

Last week I was at the EUI for a workshop on survey experiments with brilliant PhD researchers. And then I presented a new paper in Lausanne, thanks to @evakrejcova.bsky.social ‘s invitation
Why posting only now? Because I’m marking
