Protest against the racists this weekend
I've spoken to people on the recruitment end in different jobs (not HR, but team members looking to fill a position) and sometimes the sheer quantity of applicants is staggering. It can be 100 after the automated filter. That's an indicator of something that I'm sure more automated systems can fix.
The job I ended up getting did involve my CV, but crucially a real person looked at it and went "oh this is interesting, let's invite Alex in for a chat". No automated CV-reading system involved. Much to consider.
Restart got me to slightly re-jig my CV to meet ATS needs, even though most jobs I applied for didn't require a CV (arts/heritage sector loves to make you input everything manually). They had no other real advice for me. Very useful fortnightly meetings.
