If AI accounts for only 20% of data center use, why is it the justification for nearly every new data center? I did the math and suspect Big Tech is using AI as a cover for unpopular uses like surveillance advertising. blog.still-water.net/what-if-data...

Not shockingly, I got the Empiricist.
We're one of the most educated countries on earth. Talking down to us about this is certainly a choice. Also, given that knowledge of how AI works correlates with AI skepticism, I doubt a true 'education' program would have the effect they're looking for. #CNDPoli
I've been a city girl my whole life, but even I've spent enough time around cows to know why raw milk is a terrible idea.

While I expect Liberal partisans to continue arguing otherwise, it seems increasingly clear to me that the Carney government has abandoned Canada's climate goals. #CNDPoli www.cbc.ca/news/politic...
Good. Google shouldn't be able to pass the buck on false statements generated by its 'AI overviews'. Especially not when those statements are potentially defamatory or otherwise harmful. arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...
I'm an above-average study participation enjoyer, but this one was legit fun. The study uses a unique methodology - asking participants to pitch an episode of Black Mirror - to explore what concerns people about the future of generative AI. www.internetruleslab.com/black-mirror...
I do kind of wonder how much of the appeal of Alberta seperatism lies in the idea that an independent Alberta would be able to coerce BC (...somehow...) into doing what it wants. thehub.ca/2026/06/09/n...
I found parts of his speech eyeroll-inducing, but, then again, I'm not the intended audience. While I remain concerned about Poilievre's ability to rise to the moment generally, I think Wells basically gets it right here. #CNDPoli #ABLeg paulwells.substack.com/p/how-to-sav...
