DeepReefMap was built to turn GoPro videos into semantic 3D models. We adapted it so it can now easily support 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘀, 𝘀𝗲𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 3𝗗 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀. A nice example is the integration of 𝘓𝘰𝘎𝘦𝘙 into the pipeline, leading to faster and better-quality reconstruction!

Releasing a new version of DeepReefMap today! 🪸
Together with Hugues Sibille (EPFL), we reshaped the original DeepReefMap software to be more flexible and easier to work with!
From a single camera video, DeepReefMap produces 3D point clouds, orthomosaics and class-level statistics over the video. This aims to make coral reef monitoring more accessible to anyone with a camera and a laptop.
The ‘world order’ didn’t collapse bc Russia invaded Ukraine. It collapsed because the free world chose not to stop them.
By refusing to use our wealth & power to defend even a European democracy, we showed dictators everywhere that aggression pays.
That was the death blow. We did this to ourselves.
The software is open-source to encourage the community to improve it over time, and we're very much looking forward to seeing where it goes!
