I watched something similar about books recently. I don't think it applies exactly to games, but it's a good angle too.
I think it's this one, and if it's not, it's from the same channel:

The stance of the U.S. Copyright Office seems to disagree with this statement.
It lays out a number of qualifications of significant human involvement in AI generated artifacts that are indeed copyrightable.

'Stop Killing Games' has failed to secure new EU legislation to keep games playable after official support has ended, despite having 1.3 million signatures
The EU says it “cannot propose a legal obligation” requiring publishers to keep games playable after they stop being sold commercially
Careful with pushing this narrative. The lawyer is wrong. Have a look at @tifaret.bsky.social answers.
Prompting has a high chance to not carry copyright, but AI enabled workflows most likely do.
If someone talks in absolute, and all caps, they talk from emotion, not competence. World is complexe.
1) Good chat about how they use generative AI
2) Follow up question is... clumsy at best
3) The developer doesn't know how to answer the non-sensical question and hesitate for a couple of seconds
4) PR people, here to manage risks, jumps in and make everything worse
5) GI posts on BS to fuel fire.
The problem is not the embargo, but thinking it needs a broadcast to the press. They did many times before: announce the whole company at the same time, publish a public statement at the same time, select where to answer if questions come up from outside. Why was it done differently this time?

I know a lot of people are bummed over this but it shouldn't be surprising considering what Stop Killing Games was asking was largely unworkable both in the practical and legal sense.
Trying to essentially usurp licensing was always going to be a complete nonstarter for major publishers
Some cool new creations from the #shipshaper weekly challenge and leaderboards.
ahem, AI CANNOT ASSIGN COPYRIGHT. YOU WILL NOT OWN THE THINGS THIS THING MAKES EVEN IF THEY TRY AND ASSIGN IT TO YOU. USING THIS WOULD TECHNICALLY BE IN VIOLATION OF 100% OF PUBLISHER AGREEMENTS I HAVE SEEN

We asked the Crystal Dynamics team about its use of generative AI in developing Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Here’s what Jeff Adams, experience director on the game, had to say.

And in film criticism, I can find this! It's not strange or controversial for films to receive a very wide range of critical reactions. But not so in games crit. So many critics treat games with kid gloves, either because they're fans through and through or are afraid of being harassed by readers.

Ubisoft EMBARGOED news to outlets about the layoffs and studio closures, FYI.
Employees were told this morning. And then many reached out to us.
Companies trying to embargo layoffs and closures might be the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen in my 16 years.
