Journalists should take it as an affront and a challenge when a powerful public official refuses to answer basic questions about their most consequential acts. But in the case of Susan Collins, for a cluster of reasons (bias, careerism, affinity, horse-trading etc) they all just shrug. #MEpolitics
Not super interested in what she has to say about Kavanaugh now -- the vote is what counts -- but it's notable that we're not aware of any Maine reporter ever having broached the subject with Susan Collins in the eight years since she tipped the scales against abortion rights in America. #MEpolitics

Susan Collins announces two lobbyists as her campaign co-chairs. Totally normal stuff and definitely not the sign of a withering, dysfunctional political system in need of dramatic reform. #MEpolitics
Platner coming for the safe streets vote. Over the years Susan Collins has been a reliable errand-runner for the trucking industry, even at the expense of the safety of Mainers. (See e.g. tinyurl.com/2cmem2ke) #MEpolitics
Susan Collins votes to advance another Trump lackey/nominee -- teeing him up for a lifetime judgeship -- even though he won't say who won the 2020 election. Despicable. Only slightly less despicable that Portland Press Herald and other legacy Maine outlets refuse to cover it. #MEpolitics
For like the sixth time, Trump just confirmed he's behind Susan Collins. Just like she was behind him in 2020. #MEpolitics
Of course Bangor Daily News has put this lazy, myth-driven article at the top of their homepage. The paper's slogan should be "Propaganda with a Purpose." #MEpolitics

New York Post reports that Susan Collins had a "small watch party" last night. Does anyone in Maine know about this watch party? Any photos? Has there ever been a senator who was less comfortable around regular folks? #MEpolitics
Susan Collins sycophant Patrick Whittle's AP article implying she has 'defied' Trump cites only two votes: Big Beautiful Bill which she helped pass and a $9B amendment that passed anyway. Collins isn't a moderate and hasn't been for a decade. Only question is if media will admit it. #MEpolitics
NRSC calls ME-SEN the "linchpin" in their bid to keep a Trump-hugging, anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ majority in charge of the Senate. Saying they literally can't do it without Susan Collins. #MEpolitics

By a vote of 48-45 the #Senate invoked cloture on the nomination of Anthony Powell to be a District Judge for the District of Kansas. The vote was party-line with Senators Bennet, Blackburn, Crapo, Graham, Moreno, Smith, and Tills not voting.
Graham Platner for Senate
