A reminder that judges are NOT supposed to be neutral emotionless umpires calling balls and strikes. That's right wing propaganda invented by the Federalist Society.
They're supposed to be impartial purveyors of justice, not neutral robots chained to the text regardless of the consequences.
Earl Warren and Thurgood Marshall were both very open about that fact, and the modern conception of judges was Federalist Society backlash to SCOTUS giving Black and gay people rights.
