Hordatines accumulate rather in more resistant barley leaves (Hordeum vulgare L.) Infected with Bipolaris sorokiniana. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...
🌱🧬Pathogens manipulate the apoplast by controlling pH, water & nutrients. Plants fight back with oxidative bursts, toxins & hydrolases. Adapted pathogens disarm these defenses & hide from detection Molecular arms race outside the cell @annualreviews.bsky.social www.annualreviews.org/content/jour...

How do pathogens disarm plant immunity? We discovered a widespread strategy used by plant bacterial pathogens: they directly cleave a conserved immune signaling molecule produced by plant immune receptors. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
A team led by the @leibnizipk.bsky.social and @fz-juelich.de has developed an AI-model that predicts where regulatory proteins bind to plant DNA in order to switch genes on and off. The study has been published in "Nature Communications". ➡️Paper: tinyurl.com/mryxendn ➡️PR: tinyurl.com/37kpbpzh
The first fatty acid-binding structure in a “G-type lectin domain” among plant PRRs has been verified! A new LORE paper is out from Ranf lab at TUM in Germany and University of Fribourg in Switzerland and @antonelladipizio.bsky.social at TUM : doi.org/10.64898/202... Here are some cool highlights:

Cryo-ET gives unparalleled views of cellular structures, but targeted sample preparation by cryo-FIB milling has been a constraint. No longer! A new workflow yields close to 100% targeting success for centrioles & other small structures. Read the preprint ⤵️ www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
