Tarzan 5 also harbours the most pulsars in any globular cluster, nearly 50 of them.
Most of these are millisecond pulsars so they’ve been spun up through accretion processes in binary systems, reflecting the dynamic environment inside T5.
X-rays tell us there should be more!
In this thread: fear mongering about the dangers of...hydrogen peroxide. In terms of the "toxic chemicals" they could try here, this is probably the least toxic thing they could be trying. It's relevant and funny because what they're doing can't work not because it's some huge ecological disaster.
Also fun fact this has been done to make telescopes before. Fill a pool with Mercury and spin it into a paraboloid. Easy telescope. Downsides including you can only point straight up and the mildly extreme toxicity
