Game workers do not receive any residuals/royalties on shipped titles and shipping bonuses are increasingly rare. There's also no guarantee that your name will even be in the credits if you leave before ship, and studios will use this to keep you compliant. All of this can and should change.
sadly I’ve heard Execs have these discussions. Proudly declaring that “you have to be around at ship for credits.“ Dangled like a carrot upon resignation. It’s a twister thumb they keep you under just for credit. Now add health insurance leverage, wage theft, poor salaries, and bad management
