I grew up in a working-class family. My grandparents were dairy farmers, my mom was a union teaching assistant, and my dad served during Vietnam and fixed phones.
I learned early what it means to work hard and still need things to go right. Those are the families I’m fighting for.
I’m humbled by your support and fired up for the fight ahead.
I’m pretty sure half of Waukesha county was out this morning. Kids everywhere, lawn chairs all along the route. Grateful for a Memorial Day spent with neighbors.
The greatest tribute we can offer is to live in a way that honors what they gave. To care for one another. To serve the country they served. To make sure the families they left behind are never alone with that flag.
With gratitude,
Sara
