I guess the issue I have is that these all just feel derivative of so many things before. Like a string of cool framing, serviceable VFX & stylized action.
No substance. No emotional anchor.
Just go all the way ham & BE Fast & Furious already!

I feel like I would've liked S1 of the live-action #AvatarTheLastAirbender series a lot more if I'd never seen the original animated series.
Some of the changes do improve the tension & pacing, but changes to key characters & moments feel baffling given the existing blueprint.
The #Stargate situation is reminding me of Netflix’s #AvatarTheLastAirbender.
How they did it w/out the OG creators & we got an honest attempt that stripped down the original’s spirit.
As the article suggested, would Amazon do a Stargate w/out original showrunners? Can they?
