I'm begging people who think that a Constitutional Convention is a solution to fascism to learn a single goddamned thing about what a Constitutional Convention is and the can of worms having one could open, because trust me: it will not go how you hope.
Newsom was never going to be the nominee anyway, for a ton of reasons, but Trump going after him first and foremost among those who are likely to announce is actually a blessing both BECAUSE Newsom won't win and because Newsom, whatever else one may say about him, relishes this kind of publicity.
"I'm trans and therefore you can't judge me for not supporting Democrats" is basically a clarion call for me to judge the everloving fuck out of you, actually.

A Constitutional Convention has been a right wing wet dream my entire life, and there's a reason for that that just saying "this will solve things!" does not begin to grapple with.
To say nothing of 28 states currently being run by Republican legislatures and 23 being Republican trifectas.
