Tired of people assuming good research and teaching is incompatible or something you have to choose between. Many of us care about and are *great* at both. It’s fine to specialise in one or the other, but not everyone does or even wants to do so because they are so often reciprocal.
One of the consistent pieces of feedback I get from students is how much they love that their teacher also publishes on what they teach. They know that part of what makes the tuition fee bearable is knowing that they are being taught by the people who literally *wrote* the book on their subject.
