I will say re: GIMP that Affinity is extremely useful on Linux these days
it's actually an incredibly specific and pig-ass-ignorant view of what "usability" is, or how "doing things" works
people don't drive their cars by pushing buttons with pictures on them. it's an entire sequence of linked, overlapping skills & behaviors. whole mind and body.
