Deacon has the best kind of career for an indie dude: He gets to soundtrack both weird art movies, Netflix originals, and the occasional blockbuster (he did one of the Venom movies), plus he still tours frequently.

But for all the things that mattered (strong friendships, career opportunities) … the Visual Editors forums for news designers circa 2005-2009. The tech was rough. The conversations ran deep.
