I am an atheist in the same way Marx and Engels and Lenin were atheist. If people have a problem with that I don’t care
obviously I don't see religious people that way but that's exactly how their argument sounds. exhausting shit. people will sooner turn to a 13 year old reddit atheist to blame for society's downfall than all the milenar institutions put forth by organized religion
I leaved Catholicism bcs it clashed with my politics.
Nowadays I'm into magic and stuff but I don't pratice much anything. I worship Dionysius and that's kinda it :v sometimes I pray to other gods but it's mostly just wine guy I hang out with :p he is cool!!!
Afaik Martin Buber conceptualized the i/thou relation to god in part in response to Marxist thinking on religion

I think about that all the time. And regardless of your faith, that is true. We humans are more real than the spiritual realm
Humans and nature are real. God, if it exists, cannot be approached in the same way as your landlord or a rainbow or your dog. It is such an impersonal way to view the world. You are always on the outside of something so great. Just a minor little cog yet subject to the machines whims.
In this way I think we advance Marx's view on religion. It's not about whether it's good or bad but about prioritizing human liberation here on earth. I am real. I am real. I am real.
