Which is a thematic mechanism the whole show is built on: everything’s cyclical, and most people are destroyed by it despite their intentions. Take down the Barkesdale crew, and the Stanfield crew pops up immediately to replace it. People like Bubbles or Cutty, who get out, are a rarity.
Does the three-way duel look cool? Sure! Highlight of the movie, even. With a genuinely great musical arrangement by John Williams. Are there any actual stakes to it? Not a single one. The outcome has no meaningful effect on the greater conflict's resolution whatsoever.
It being useful for some things does not change the fact that all of these products, *all of them*, are built using stolen property. The people who feel "free to do more important work" do so because they're reaping the benefit of other peoples' unpaid/uncompensated labor.
I'm genuinely curious how much of her performance as Timlin was informed by the way fans would approach her during the peak of TWILIGHT fame.

What a fucking sniveler.
Fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie or GTFO.
Correct!

I'd almost be willing to bet it's way, way more than half.

I was 19, in college, cut class to see a matinee showing of it with a friend, and afterwards, while neither of us quite said it outright, the mutual vibe was basically, "yeah, we should have gone to class instead."

IMO the biggest story mistake was not making Darth Maul (whom much of the ad campaign was built around!) the face of the Trade Federation's scheme from the get-go. They should have been taking orders from him, with the Palpatine reveal only happening mid-2nd act.
