…but I reckon this photograph is the same ECS rake being brought into Euston (note white marker lights indicating direction of travel) moments earlier, although the Flickr blurb says November 1986 (which it couldn’t be because it was already painted in InterCity Executive livery by then)
I thought I had found the earliest record of 87006 in Executive Dark Grey with large logo livery on 12 May 1984…

Richard, very excited about a Sealink teaspoon acquisition. Difficult to be certain but the Port side double arrow looks in the reverse configuration which is an excellent effort.

#OnThisDay 163 years ago the LNWR opened its station in Buxton, alongside the Midland terminus that opened a fortnight beforehand. This is the surviving station in the town, although it lost its roof leaving just this lovely listed fan window. Alan Padley buff.ly/ZMyiUvm
